From October 15 -30, 2009 Krispy Kreme will have Halloween-themed doughnuts available for the season.The designs of the doughnuts range from pumpkins, a skull, a spider web, an alien at a simple black and orange-sprinkled doughnut. They’re all just cute and yummy too. I personally like the alien doughnut, I like the green color along with the shape.

If you were also from Ateneo like me, you probably grew up most of your years eating the cute doughnuts with the yummy dough from Cellos Doughnut and Dips. It’s one of the coolest business projects that materialized from a fellow Atenean.
I grew up in studying along Katipunan Avenue in three different schools from grade school until college. And I only became aware of the existence of this doughnut chain when I was a college freshman in the Ateneo.

When I was strolling along SM North’s Skygarden after going to Powermac Annex I got so giddy seeing a Cellos Doughnuts and Dips Branch just near our area. Woot! Now I don’t have to drive all the way to Katipunan just to my favorite box of assorted cocktail doughnuts. Awesome! I’m also happy that Ms. Cello’s business is doing great.

When I entered Cellos Doughnuts and Dips, I was immediately greeted by the cheerful staff. I told them I was happy because Cellos is finally here way up North, as well as the fact that I haven’t eaten a box of cocktail doughnuts for almost a year to this date. I don’t really mind finishing a full box of assorted mini-doughnuts during that time. The doughnuts are just yummy, and perfect to pig out with! Hehehe…

I don’t know what happened the time I got my box of cocktail doughnuts… I used to have 12 doughnuts in a box on every order, and it seems that a box already contains 15 doughnut flavors. It must have been my lucky day or Cellos just increased the number of doughnuts in a box. :p

I was one of the first ones in their store, so in turn they gave me a set of coupons to consume until next year! Woot woot! Thank you Cellos. ^_^ Now I can have my favorite doughnuts 2 avenues away from our home. I can also order their wonderful birthday doughnuts, wherein they bake customized letters for a Happy Birthday message or what! Awesome.

If you haven’t noticed yet, around here at Patay Gutom, we’re obsessed with Krispy Kreme Doughnuts.  Just the smell of a freshly made batch of original glazed Krispy Kreme doughnuts is enough to make our mouths water and our hearts flutter in excitement.

Craving for some hot coffee and Krispy Kreme doughnuts one Saturday night, my girlfriend and I passed by the branch on Bonifacio High Street – it was already way past bedtime for a lot of the kids there who were still running around, high on sugar. Lol!

After a couple of doughtnuts – Choco Cake and NY Cheese Cake – and a cup of smooth brewed coffee each, we were much the same, laughing and giddy, except that we kept to our seats. Hehe. (Sorry, we each took a bite already from the NY Cheese Cake doughnut when I remembered to take a photo!)

Before we left, (a bit disappointed we didn’t get any freebie doughnuts) we bought a dozen more to bring home to our families so that we can all be one-big-sugar-high-happy family.

I got a try of both of the new Krispy Kreme Snickers Doughnuts last night at their Greenhills branch in San Juan, Metro Manila. The first flavor I ate was the Snickers Classic Doughnut flavor. For me, this one tasted better than the other one (Snickers Chocolate Cake) because the taste of the chunks of the Snickers bar is overshadowed by the chocolate-flavoured dough of the doughnut. A little too sweet for my tastebuds..hehe.

Well, they’re both yummy in their own right, I just prefer the first one. The doughnuts cost for about 44php as usual. If you love Snickers, I recommend the doughnuts

Today I was finally able to consume Apple Cheesecake doughnuts from Krispy Kreme. The apple-flavored doughnuts became available last mother’s day. It was only today that I go to consume one of them.

The doughnuts are almost the same in taste because they both have apple-flavored syrup fillings. the closest I can compare the flavored filling is that it’s similar to an apple pie syrup at McDonalds (just less the apple chunks). The sliced apple toppings go well with the doughnuts. I couldn’t think of having the doughnuts without the apple toppings. They somehow neutralize the sweetness of the Krispy Kreme Apple Cheesecake doughnuts.

And this is my update for the Krispy Kreme Doughnuts. I’ll make another post about their Choco Kreme Cakes. I’ll just take pictures and eat a little of them…I can’t help but count the calories when I eat doughnuts.

4:00 AM: Others were awake, but the majority were still sleeping.

5:00 AM: Five hours left before the opening.

6:00 AM: Everyone was excited. Everyone stood up

7:00 AM: Others sat down again because they were tired of standing, I think.

8:00 AM: Still waiting… 2 Hours more to Go!

9:00 AM: Almost there! Dividers are now present to organize the sugar maniacs.

10:00 AM: Finally! Krispy Kreme was open after a long wait! Yiheeee!

The Verdict: This is what I got after waiting for 7 long hours. How pathetic am I? Hehehe.
