Aligue Bibimbap a.k.a Talangkanin

Are you an avid fan of ABS-CBN’s Only You Starring Diether Ocampo, Sam Milby and Angel Locsin? If yes, then most probably you are familiar with Jillian’s specialty called “Aligue Bibimbap” also known as “Talangkanin”. It is the reason why TJ and Jonathan fell in love with our pretty chef.

We’ve seen Judy Ann Santos and her Ysabella’s Chicken last year and some of us were able to taste this popular dish at Bacolod Chicken Inasal. Ever wondered how Jillian’s Talangkanin tastes like?

Crepeman at Banchetto

May 23rd, 2009

Banchetto is a “food tiangge” along Emerald Ave. in Ortigas every Saturday. It starts at 12:01 AM and ends around 10:59 AM. Yup, it’s a good place to eat after your Friday night gimik.

And one of my favorite stalls there is Crepeman. I always have their crepes for dessert whenever I’m in Banchetto. But they also sell ham and bacon crepe sandwiches.

Sbarro – Pizza, Pasta, and more Pizza!

May 21st, 2009

Tired of the all too ordinary pizza and pasta fare available, waiting 15 minutes or more for your pizza, or just want the freshest ingredients? Sbarro steps up to the plate and delivers.

Sbarro opened it’s first Salumeria (Italian grocery store) in Brooklyn, New York in 1956 starting out as deli eventually evolving into the fast self-service we know today. Sbarro doesn’t skimp on ingredients and uses only the freshest ingredients for their authentic Italian dishes, so expect to pay a premium (but not too steep).

But Sbarro doesn’t skimp on it serving portions either, so you get what you pay for and how! Here are some of the shots I took while dining:

Dimsum Overload at The Royal Garden in Binondo

May 16th, 2009

When you’re looking for a place to eat in Binondo, I suggest you try The Royal Garden. Not only do they have good food there, but you’ll also feel that you just traveled all the way to China because the place is usually filled with Chinese customers speaking their local tongue.

Me and my friends always go here whenever we want some authentic dim sum, which I believe is really their specialty. They have dim sum carts that go around the tables where you can just pick whatever you want.

When the cart passes by your table, be sure to get all that you want for they go pretty fast and you’ll have to wait another 30 minutes or so before the next batch comes. Here’s our first batch of dim sum that we had.
