Great Pinoy Fusion Grilled Food at Zulu Grill

We have discovered a new place to eat great Pinoy Fusion Grill food that’s within budget within Barangay Kapitolyo in Pasig City. The place is owned by a group of batch 2008 graduates in Ateneo who started their food business within our school grounds. The name of the establishment is Zulu Grill. Zulu stands for the word ‘Sulo’ or torch in Filipino. Same as the use of the torch to light up something, Zulu Grill promises to light up your passion for eating. :)

We were served with some of the Zulu Grill’s Best Sellers. They mainly served us grilled Filipino dishes and some grilled fusion dishes but they also serve pasta and rice bowl dishes too.

ZULU Grill | Grilled Chicken Marinara by Maki Eduardo

Grilled Chicken Marinara (159 PHP)

I wasn’t able to eat this dish but I was able to ask blogger Jehz about what he thought about the Grilled Chicken Marinara. He said: “Ang sarap ng chicken marinara, I can’t get enough. Pati sa panaginip ko, kinakain ko siya paulit ulit! ^_^.”

Zulu Grill | Grilled Chicken Mushroom by Maki Eduardo

Grilled Chicken Mushroom (160 PHP)

I was just able to taste a sample of the Grilled Chicken Mushroom since it wasn’t the meal I chose and it was Carlos’ meal. What I can just say is that it’s like eating a chicken steak dish. The mushroom gravy was just creamy and really tasted good.

Zulu Grill | Grilled Chicken Pesto by Maki Eduardo

Grilled Chicken Pesto (165PHP)

This was the one I ate during our visit to Zulu Grill. It was the most expensive grilled chicken dish among others but the meal was really worth it. Zulu Grill uses fresh Basil leaves for this dish, so it stays faithful to how pesto should taste like, yet doesn’t overpower the flavor of the grilled chicken. My two thumbs up on this dish, especially of you’re a Pesto lover.

Zulu Grill

And so Zulu Grill asks the question… Well, now I’m introducing the two best-selling Filipino dishes, the Liempo and the Sisig. Servings from both dishes during our time of visit were enough for sharing already, and if you would like to have a great experience that’s worth coming back for in Zulu Grill, I recommend ordering both dishes. ;)

Zulu Grill | Grilled Liempo by Maki EduardoGrilled Liempo (95PHP/85PHP *ala carte)

This is one of the main dishes that Zulu Grill is known for. Back in college when the establishment was known as ‘Kaon Ta’ (Let’s Eat) , it became competition to the best-selling liempo place within the Ateneo Campus called Manang’s. The liempo Sulu Grill serves is finely marinated to taste and come in above average servings.

Zulu Grill | Sizzling Sisig by Maki Eduardo

Zulu Sizzling Sisig (130PHP)

Zulu’s Sizzling Sisig was a noteworthy dish…it was just crunchy, yummy and the drizzled sauce ads a kick to the dish. If I would think of a perfect sisg dish that’s not just all-filled with fats and sizzling oil, it’s Zulu’s Sizzling Sisig. Two thumbs up for Zulu Grill coming up with a great sisig dish.

Zulu Grill Unlimited Rice by Maki Eduardo

Unlimited Rice! Woohoo :P

Zulu also pushes the sales of the Liempo meal as well as other Pinoy Specialty grilled meals with their unlimited rice system. Oohh..

Zulu Grill | Gising-Gising by Maki EduardoGising-Gising (40 PHP)

The Gising-Gising will be the last dish I will feature since it’s a perfect main or side dish to any grilled food from Zulu Grill. It may not look spicy on the picture but it sure was spicy!

Well, that’s about it for my Zulu Grill experience. I hope I got you readers hungry and interested in paying Zulu Grill a visit. It’s a nice and cozy place to hang out and eat within Baranggay Kapitolyo in Pasig City. Zulu has great food that I believe deserves the fame of Charlies and Uncle Moe’s within Pasig City. :)
