RECIPES – Pinoy Dishes with a Twist

When I got back to Manila from my New Year’s Celebration with my grandparents in Subic, I texted some of the Patay Gutom respondents if we can have dinner in the evening. Since some of us won’t be celebrating the first dinner with our respective families, we decided to meet up in Greenbelt 3 and eat at Recipes by Cafe Metro.

PG Hannah was craving for Recipe’s General’s Chicken hours before our meet-up time. Only Winston confirmed that he’d go with us so there we went :P

I first grabbed the opportunity to taste the Filipino dishes of Recipes during the blogger’s food tour sponsored by Spot.PH. The Trinoma branch of the resto was our group’s first stop. One of my favorite dish which we failed to order that night is the Gising-Gising. I found out from a friend that if you tell the waiter that you’ll order for ‘Tatlong Sikat’, it means that you will be ordering their three topsellers – Crispy Tilapia, General’s Chicken and Gising-Gising. Cool fact, huh?

If you want to have a taste of Filipino dishes with a special twist, just go to any branch of RECIPES. The most popular ones though are the Greenbelt 3 and Trinoma branch.

Next time na pumunta ka sa kanila, sabihin mo sa waiter, “Pa-order ako ng Tatlong Sikat” and you’ll get their best dishes – the General’s Chicken, the Crispy Tilapia and the Gising-gising.

What’s the gising-gising? Order it and you’ll find out. :D
